Concrete Canvas Ltd

Award winning Concrete Canvas® and the revolutionary all-in-one, armoured impermeable liner - CC Hydro™ are part of a new class of construction materials. They are flexible, concrete impregnated fabrics that harden on hydration to form thin, durable, water proof and fire resistant concrete layers. Essentially, it’s concrete on a roll.

Concrete Canvas Ltd (CC) manufactures 3 award winning products, Concrete Canvas®, the all-in-one impermeable liner - CC Hydro™ and Concrete Canvas Shelters (CCS). All products are manufactured in the UK from where it exports to 80+ countries.

Concrete Canvas® has gained market acceptance in the civil engineering sector as a cost-effective alternative to conventional concrete in a wide range of applications, including channel lining, slope protection and concrete remediation. International customers include Shell, BP, Barrick Mining, BHP Billiton, Arup, Halcrow, the British Armed Forces and even one of the top 5 Premier League Football Teams.

CC is a flexible cement impregnated fabric that hardens on hydration to form a thin, durable, water proof and fire proof concrete layer, allowing concrete to be used in a completely new way. There is no need for mixing or measuring; the concrete is premixed and cannot be over hydrated, and will set underwater and in sea water.

CC is a low mass, low carbon geo-textile technology which uses up to 95% less material than conventional concrete for many applications. It is chemically resistant, has good weathering performance and will not degrade in UV light, with a design life of over 50 years.

Concrete Canvas

Award winning Concrete Canvas® (CC) and CC Hydro™ are part of a new class of construction materials. They are flexible, concrete impregnated fabrics that harden on hydration to form a thin, durable, water proof and fire resistant concrete layer. Essentially, it’s concrete on a roll.

Applications include channel lining, erosion control, weed suppression and pipe/cable protection. CC is twice as abrasion resistant as standard OPC concrete, has good weathering performance and can be installed at rates of up to 800m² a day in inclement weather. Customers include National Grid, Scottish Power, Anglian Water, the Environment Agency, Mott MacDonald and Costain.

A Brief Introduction to Concrete Canvas

Concrete Canvas® (CC) is a flexible, concrete impregnated fabric that hardens on hydration to form a thin, durable, water proof and fire resistant concrete layer. Essentially, it’s concrete on a roll. CC allows concrete construction without the need for plant or mixing equipment: JUST ADD WATER.

This video covers our Material Introduction, Benefits and Applications, and the areas in which Concrete Canvas is involved.

The 4 Principles of Concrete Canvas Installation

The unique material properties of Concrete Canvas (CC) mean that it can be used for a variety of applications. Following the Four Key Installation Principles in this animation will help ensure a successful installation.

CCUK: Concrete Canvas (CC) Channel Lining - 5 Mile Lane, South Wales, UK

In July 2018, Concrete Canvas (CC) was specified as an erosion control liner to a 600m crest drain running adjacent to an ongoing road construction project. The principle contractor, Alun Griffiths, installed over 2250sqm of CC8 material in less than 4 days. The Five Mile Lane Improvements Project aims to improve safety along an important A road in Barry, South Wales, UK. The scheme involves a combination of improvements including construction of a new road which required crest drainage to direct surface run-off from an adjacent field. CC was specified to prevent scouring and water ingress into the cutting, whilst offering significant cost and time savings compared to conventional concrete solutions.

CCUK: Concrete Canvas (CC) Channel Lining - Gilfach Goch

Concrete Canvas used to line a run-off channel adjacent to a housing estate. Installed by Hammond ECS Ltd on behalf of Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council to address possible water ingress to the neighboring properties.
